Media Create Japanese Sales for Week Ending July 4th, 2010
The people who make Professor Layton games and the sharp-looking Studio Ghibli game Ni no Kuni have another hit on their hands, the latest sports-themed RPG, Inazuma Eleven 3: Sekai e no Chousen!!, Japan's bestselling game. Both versions of Inazuma Eleven 3: Sekai e no Chousen!! for the Nintendo DS toppled last week's champ, the Xbox 360 game Monster Hunter Frontier. That previously bestselling Capcom game slips way down to 14th place on this week's chart, illustrating the staying power of Xbox 360 games. Japan would appear to prefer games like the latest taiko drumming game Taiko no Tatsujin DS: Dororon! Youkai Daikessen!! and fighting game Blazblue: Continuum Shift, two chart topping new debuts. A smattering of other new debuts appear throughout this week's Media Create sales chart. Do your eyes and brain a favor and see what they are. Software Chart

11. Blazblue Continuum Shift (Xbox 360) It’s another week at the top of Media Create’s Japanese Hardware Sales chart for Nintendo’s DSi LL, with over 32 000 units sold for the period ending July 4th, thanks in no small part to the whopping release of Inazuma Eleven 3: World Challenge!! for the DS. The PSP continues to dog the DSi LL at No. 2, with almost 25 000 units of the handheld making their way into Japanese hands over the past week. There’s little to choose between sales of the Wii (at No. 3) and PS3 (at No. 4), sitting at close to 22 000 units and 20 000 units respectively, as sales of the PS3 may have been buoyed slightly by the release of Blazblue Continuum: Shift this week. Sales of the DSi are up by 1000 units to a little over 18 000 for the week earning it a place at No. 5 ahead of the Xbox 360 at No. 6, which is down 10 000 units to 7 300 after seeing a bit of a surge with the exclusive release of Monster Hunter Frontier Online last week. Sales of the DS Lite, PS2 and PSPgo have only shifted by around a couple hundred units, with each console enjoying sales comparable to the previous week. Hardware Chart
