Japanese software sales chartJapanese Hardware/Software Sales - Aug. 30th to Sept. 5th, 2010
Capcom’s cutesy Monster Hunter spin-off title, Monster Hunter Diary: Poka Poka Ailu Village, is once again the top-selling game in Japan this past week, managing to occupy the No. 1 spot on the sales chart for the second week in a row after selling an impressive 88,000 units.
Wii Party muscles its way into No. 2 on the listing from No. 3, with almost 56,000 copies sold for the week, inching ever closer to an amazing life-to-date sales number of 1 million units. Debut title Metroid: Other M sold 45 000 copies to occupy No. 3 on the chart, while Ace Combat X2: Joint Assault slips to No. 4 from No. 2, as 27,000 units of the PSP game make their way into Japanese gamers’ hands. Another new title on the chart this week, Bleach: Heat the Soul 7 for PSP, sold 25,000 copies and debuts at No. 5, while Super Mario Galaxy 2 hangs tough at No. 6, up from No. 7 last week with almost 12,000 copies. Art Academy also steps up by one spot to No. 7 with 10,000 units sold, but Inazuma Eleven 3: World Challenge!! Spark/Bomber slips down two places to No. 8 with a little over 10,000 copies. A reprint of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (distributed by Square Enix) debuts at No. 9 by selling 9,000 units, and Another Century’s Episode R for PS3 tumbles to No. 10 from No. 4 last week, selling nearly 9,000 units.
